ENGINEER
We are looking for an embedded systems engineer to join our development team this Fall 2021. As an expert in embedded solutions, you will be working on a new product's hardware design and software components. You will solve challenging problems and develop innovative solutions to transform the way we drill for energy today. What You’ll Do
-
Lead proof-of-concept module developments by selecting circuit components and creating board layouts. Ensure that the proposed solution fits the embedded system's spatial and communication requirements.

Complete board design and schematic capture of electronic components

Perform embedded and real-time software design

Write real-time device-level code that captures data from sensors and executes filtering and state estimation algorithms. Study feature extraction requirements of the application to determine how to best organize the code.

Implementing software designs for tools used in developing & validating hardware designs

Perform prototype testing of critical components either on hardware development kits

Understand hardware architectures, use models and system-level design implementations required to maximize the silicon features
Who You are
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with three (3) years of experience in embedded development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Master’s or ongoing Ph. D. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with at least one year of relevant experience in embedded development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience writing system applications with Python preferred. Understanding of device-level programming C++.

Experience with hardware interface design and development, multi-threaded applications and drivers, multi-processor systems a plus.

Highly motivated and self-directed

Working knowledge of standard hardware protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART)

Knowledge on mixed signal integrated circuit design and prototyping with microcontrollers (ARM, nRF52s preferred) and real-time operating system (RTOS). Extensive experience with MEMS accelerometers.

A solid understanding of embedded computer systems architecture.

Good understanding of signal acquisition, filtering, machine learning algorithms, and edge AI is highly desired

Ability to read electrical engineering schematics and component data sheets

Experience with board design, schematic capture, demonstrated experience in designing PCB boards with tools such as Altium is a plus
