What You’ll Do

  • Lead proof-of-concept module developments by selecting circuit components and creating board layouts. Ensure that the proposed solution fits the embedded system's spatial and communication requirements.

  • Complete board design and schematic capture of electronic components

  • Perform embedded and real-time software design

  • Write real-time device-level code that captures data from sensors and executes filtering and state estimation algorithms. Study feature extraction requirements of the application to determine how to best organize the code.

  • Implementing software designs for tools used in developing & validating hardware designs

  • Perform prototype testing of critical components either on hardware development kits

  • Understand hardware architectures, use models and system-level design implementations required to maximize the silicon features

Who You are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with three (3) years of experience in embedded development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Master’s or ongoing Ph. D. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with at least one year of relevant experience in embedded development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience writing system applications with Python preferred. Understanding of device-level programming C++.

  • Experience with hardware interface design and development, multi-threaded applications and drivers, multi-processor systems a plus.

  • Highly motivated and self-directed

  • Working knowledge of standard hardware protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART)

  • Knowledge on mixed signal integrated circuit design and prototyping with microcontrollers (ARM, nRF52s preferred) and real-time operating system (RTOS). Extensive experience with MEMS accelerometers.

  • A solid understanding of embedded computer systems architecture.

  • Good understanding of signal acquisition, filtering, machine learning algorithms, and edge AI is highly desired

  • Ability to read electrical engineering schematics and component data sheets

  • Experience with board design, schematic capture, demonstrated experience in designing PCB boards with tools such as Altium is a plus
